The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic expressed this Monday, after his victory against the Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo, that he does not know if he will be able to continue at Roland Garros as he suffers from a knee injury that he had been carrying for some time.

According to Djokovic’s own statements upon leaving the match, due to the pain in his right knee in the round of 8 at Roland Garros, he hopes to undergo tests to find out the extent of his injury and to know if he will be able to continue in the French tournament.

“At the end of the game I didn’t feel pain because I took some medication. “I have undergone some tests that are positive, but tomorrow we will do other tests and we will see if I can continue playing,” said the player.

Djokovic, who noted that he had been feeling discomfort in his right knee for a few weeks, said that during the match he thought about retiring but wanted to give the medication a chance to see if it could be fixed.

“I could hardly move, I didn’t want to do long exchanges and he noticed it and he dropped me a lot, I moved a lot. I was not able to run,” she noted.

The Serbian stated that from the last stretch of the fourth set he played without problems and was able to come back in the match.

The world number 1 complained about the conditions of the track, in which he said there was less clay than on other occasions, which could have caused him to suffer that injury.

“I asked them to sweep it, but they didn’t. “I think the injury was avoidable,” she noted.

But he also considered that the injury could have occurred “due to wear and tear”, since last Saturday he played 4 and a half hours to beat the Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the third round.
