Four years ago Prince Andrew officially left his duties with the British monarchy, but he is still staying in one of the family’s royal residences. However, King Charles III is doing everything possible to get him to leave the place.

At the beginning of last year it was reported that Andrew was refusing to leave his castle in Windsor, despite the fact that the king had canceled the maintenance of the place and of the prince himself. At the time it was said that the British royalty paid a weekly fee of £250,000 for the upkeep of the property.

Now, the British newspaper ‘The Sun’ has reported that the king is trying again to remember more about his brother’s help. The same media has assured that Andrés is currently a prisoner of his own castle, which is in poor condition.

‘The Sun’ shared some photos showing the poor state of the structure, a consequence of the lack of maintenance of the place. The stucco on its façade is falling off and there even appears to be a mold infection, although it’s impossible to be sure how serious it is. It must be remembered that mold infections force homeowners to abandon their homes.

The property, known as ‘Royal Lodge’, is located 3.2 miles south of Windsor Castle in England. And it seems that Andrés does not leave the place, but rather spends hours watching television or entertaining himself inside the property.

It is estimated that repairing and maintaining dilapidated spaces in the house requires at least £400,000 per month, which is equivalent to around $510,000.

One of the reasons why Andrés refuses to leave the property is that since he moved to the place in 2002 he has been in charge of doing maintenance and renovations to the place, investing, according to him, money from his own pocket.

According to ‘The Sun’, the prince has invested at least £7.5 million, but he no longer has the money to continue covering those expenses.
