NEW YORK – “Celebrating the Power of Tennis.” This will be the motto of the US Open 2024 which, like every year, will be held at the end of August and beginning of September in Corona Park, Queens, and for which tickets go on sale today.

The United States Tennis Federation (USTA), which organizes the tournament, wants to show with this slogan its “commitment to promoting the positive effects of the healthiest sport in the world,” as reported in a statement to the press.

Citing four medical studies, the USTA claims that the sport of racquet has a greater positive impact on the health of those who practice it than any other sport. Among its benefits: tennis players live 9.7 years longer than sedentary people (4.7 years longer than those who play soccer or 3.2 years longer than those who go running).

Tennis is one of the fastest growing sports among the Hispanic population in the United States. The USTA estimates that in 2022 there were 3.8 million Hispanic players, a growth of 90% since 2020, driven largely by the popularity of tennis during the pandemic.

The goal of the USTA is that by 2035 the United States will be the number 1 country in the world in tennis players with 35 million tennis players.

The slogan of the next US Open will be accompanied by posters and a collection of 16 balls that will show different designs, each one dedicated to a positive aspect of tennis. The art was created by Chelsey Farris, a graphic designer from St. Louis, Missouri.

The poster shows a can of tennis balls on the blue background typical of the courts of this tournament. Each ball represents a theme: Health and Wellness, New York City, Diversity and Inclusion, and Tradition.
Starting with Fan Week – days of qualifying matches in which admission is free – there will be multiple activations of the campaign at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Additionally, tickets for the US Open main draw can be purchased starting today at USOpen.org
