Singer Halsey, 29, surprised her millions of followers by revealing that she has an illness. Through a series of videos that she uploaded to her official Instagram account, she appears receiving treatment and is grateful for being able to stay alive.

“Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. A long short story, I wrote an album.“, is the message that is read at the bottom of the clips.

Although she did not specifically specify the disease she suffers from, the “You Should Be Sad” singer praised organizations that are dedicated to researching lupus and leukemia, so speculation has begun that these are the diseases she suffers from.

In one of the videos she shared on the famous social network, she also said that she hopes that when she turns 30 she can stop being sick, since she has a small son.

“I feel like an old woman,” Halsey says out loud, rubbing her legs in apparent pain. “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I will be reborn and I will not be sick and I will look super sexy and I will have a lot of energy and I will be able to do my twenties again when I am thirty,” she declared.

It should be noted that Halsey has also just released the song “The End”, where she tells details about her illness and how she deals with it.

“Every two years, a doctor says I’m sick, pulls out a new bag of tricks, and then they give it to me. At first, it was my brain, then an aching skeleton. When I met you I said I would never die, but the joke was always mine because I’m racing against time,” she sings.

In 2022, Halsey had revealed that she suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which affects the firmness of the skin and the proper functioning of the joints, Sjögren’s syndrome, which prevents the formation of tears and saliva and results in dryness of the wedding, and mast cell activation syndrome, which can manifest in symptoms such as anaphylaxis, hives, and even breathing difficulties.
