The 71-year-old actress Lyn May revealed in an interview with Gustavo Adolfo Infante that she has undergone several cosmetic procedures throughout her life, including having flu oil injected into her cheekbones when she was young.

According to May, this practice was common at that time and she decided to try it without knowing the serious risks it entailed. The oil solidified on her face and caused serious deformations, which seriously affected her self-esteem.

“When two women arrive, very affectionate… You know when they want something, they lower the sky: ‘You’re young, but if you make your cheekbones a little bigger, you’ll look better and we’ll put a little bit on your beard and You’re going to look like a queen’ and there’s the slug letting herself be injected with oil,” she said on the program ‘El Minuto que changed my destiny without censorship’.

“I smelled oil like medicine, I think they were oils for the flu, they were very fashionable, everyone used them, but it’s good that it was oil because if they had been biopolymers I would die,” the Mexican added during the conversation.

Lyn did not miss the opportunity to add details of what she went through: “Afterwards I suffered very, very much, the moment came when I wanted to kill myself, I didn’t want to see myself in a mirror. Many times when I saw myself in the mirror she would say ‘Why? Why?’, and she cried, she didn’t want to live anymore. And so I was for a month, locked up, without going out, I didn’t want to go out, I didn’t want anything, I started to get rid of it little by little, but it was a scar or a ball.

Despite having gone through difficult times, Lyn May has managed to recover and move forward with her career in show business. Currently, the actress is an example of self-improvement and courage by speaking openly about her experience with aesthetic procedures.
