Ricardo Centurión, a 31-year-old Argentine footballer, has disappeared from one day to the next, according to the president of Vélez Sarsfield, Fabián Berlanga, in statements collected by AS.
“We don’t know anything about Centurion. He disappeared overnight, we are worried. We are trying to locate it through Google Maps. He cut off the phone and we can’t reach him. He disappeared more than 10 days ago,” Berlanga said.
“The situation with Centurión became difficult, he cut communication with us. It is very sad because we put everything at his disposal,” added the manager.
Since his arrival in professional football, the player has dealt with an internal battle between his talent and his lack of discipline. His career has been marked by incidents related to alcohol consumption, physical attacks and even escape attempts.
In 2016 and 2017, during his time at Boca Juniors, Centurión was involved in two incidents related to alcohol consumption. In that same 2017 he was reported by his ex-partner for physical attacks. In 2018, he was arrested by police for driving under the influence and attempting to bribe an officer.
In 2019, after a series of personal and professional problems, Centurión returned to Racing Club. However, his return to the Academy was not successful and after the death of several family members and his partner, Melody Pasini, his situation worsened.
In 2022, Centurión signed with Barracas Central in hopes of relaunching his career. However, after a few months of apparent calm, he was removed from the team due to lack of commitment.
