Singer and songwriter Dolly Parton, 78, will bring her life story to a musical that will appear on Broadway in 2026.

The country star is working on music, co-writing the book with Maria S. Schlatter and will be a producer on “Hello, I’m Dolly,” a title that refers to her debut album released in 1967 and the renowned musical “Hello, Dolly!”

“Hello, I’m Dolly! “I have been writing the story of my life as a Broadway musical for several years and I am proud to announce that we are finally developing “Hello, I’m Dolly – An Original Musical” for the Broadway stage,” she wrote in an Instagram post .

The news was also revealed yesterday by the “Joline” singer on stage at the CMA Fest in Nashville and she announced that the public will know her entire life, until now: “She has a lot of history, a lot of family.”

Along with Parton and Adam Speers for ATG Production, Danny Nozell will produce for CTK Enterprises, the Nashville-based global talent management company.

The performer already had experience creating music and lyrics for musicals, such as “9 to 5,” based on the film of the same name in which she had starred alongside Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda in the 1980s.

For his presentation in London’s West End he had already worked with Speers, so he will repeat for his musical.

“I first had the pleasure of working with Dolly Parton in 2019, when she trusted us to develop a new version of her musical “9 to 5” for London’s West End. “I had always heard that I wanted to do a musical based on her life, so when she asked me if I would be interested in producing it, my jaw dropped,” she revealed.

“As everyone knows, Dolly is a magical mix of talent, hard work, intelligence, charm, wit and a gigantic heart. “I am delighted that we are bringing her inspiring story to Broadway,” added Adam Speers.
