Toni Kroos will end his playing career after the European Championship with Germany. So the 34-year-old midfielder’s next games will be his last on the field.

However, the German seems to be more than clear about his next step once he hangs up his boots. And Kroos wants to remain linked to football, although from July he will do so in another role.

Recently in an interview with Diary Ace The former Real Madrid player revealed exactly what he will do once he has played his last match as a footballer.

“Mainly with my family. I will continue with the podcast with my brother Felix. And I will create and work in a soccer academy in Madrid. Starting in September, the Icon League (new futsal format) will also begin. But it is also clear that I am not going to get involved in 18 projects now to become as busy as when I was an active player,” Toni explained.

Without a doubt Kroos is clear about what he will do when he is no longer a soccer player. However, he does not get ahead of himself, as he still has at least three more games to play with Germany.

The midfielder was direct when explaining how he will experience these next matches knowing that they will be the last for him. “I am very aware of it (laughs). But that doesn’t put me on alert nor do I expect to break out in a cold sweat.”

“The countdown has begun and I want to face these last games in the same way that I have been able to face the last games for Real Madrid, that is, with the greatest possible success,” he concluded.

Reason for his early retirement

Despite his 34 years, for many, Toni Kroos still had a lot to give on the field. Even this season has been one of the best for him in terms of performance.

Even so, the German was upright in his decision to put an end to his career. “I simply want to be remembered as the 34-year-old Toni Kroos who in the end played his best season for Real Madrid,” Kroos explained about his early retirement.

“I have done it. I consider it a compliment that many people think that the moment has come too soon,” concluded the champion of six Champions Leagues and one World Cup.
