The goalkeeper of the Águilas of Club América, Luis Ángel Malagón, could not hide his sadness at being forced to leave the concentration of the Mexican team that will play the Copa América 2024 in the United States starting next June 20 due to an injury. that he recently suffered and that forced him to return to Mexico City to begin his recovery process together with his team’s doctors.
In statements made to the various media outlets that were present at the airport to receive him, Malagón stressed that he did not want to get into controversy about his injury and explained that it represents a considerable break, which is why coach Jaime Lozano preferred to send him return to be able to be treated by the best possible specialists since he cannot be present on the field of play.
“I don’t want to get into controversy, simply there you are going to see that I am very broken, there are many centimeters, but well, the truth is, yes, it does hurt me, but I know that the team is going to do well, they are in a stage of a new process and the team is very hungry to transcend and I know that they are going to do very well because they have a great coach, great players and they have the ability,” he expressed.

The Águilas del América player considered that he does not feel worried about the performance of El Tri after his departure from the camp, stating that the country has great goalkeepers such as Julio González, the newcomer Carlos Acevedo, among others, so he hopes that They can have a great performance for the Copa América 22024.
“There are great goalkeepers, Carlos Moreno, Pepe Fernández, Sebastián Jurado, there is something to choose from.
