Next Wednesday, Social Security beneficiaries will receive payments of up to $1,415, according to the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment schedule.

This program is intended for low-income Americans who have a disability, are blind, or are at least 65 years old.

SSI payment dates

Unlike retirement benefits or SSDI, which have four different payment dates each month, SSI payments are made only once a month.

The next payment is scheduled for July 1. If the payment date falls on a holiday or weekend, beneficiaries receive their money the previous business day.

It is important for SSI recipients to plan their budgets, especially during the summer.

In August, there will be two SSI payments: one on August 1 and another on August 30.

This is because the September payment will be brought forward to the previous business day, since September 1st falls on a Sunday.

There will be no additional payments or bonuses, so it is recommended to save the money from the second August payment for the month of September.

Who can receive up to $1,415

People who receive SSI and have no income can get up to $1,415 if they are married. Those who also receive retirement benefits or SSDI may receive an average amount.

For example, beneficiaries over age 65 receive an average of $574 from SSI.

The average SSI payment for all beneficiaries is slightly higher, at $698.

Those under the age of 18 can receive an average check of $815, while beneficiaries between the ages of 18 and 64 could receive approximately $743 starting in April 2024.
