The West Midlands Police Office announced that two teenagers were found guilty after being the main suspects in the death of a 19-year-old man in November 2023. Authorities said in a statement that detectives were shocked when they discovered that those responsible were the two young men, who hit the victim with a machete.
Shawn Seesahai, 19, was attacked in a park in Wolverhampton, central England, on November 13, 2023. The young man was originally from Angola and had only been living in the United Kingdom for 6 months. Seesahai was with a friend in the park when the two young men approached them.
One wound was 20 cm deep
West Midlands Police described Seesahai as having received brutal blows to the legs and skull, but the fatal wound had been in the back, as the coroner said it was more than 20cm deep, passed through the gossips and “almost fell.” “it comes out” of the victim’s chest, after passing through “the heart.”
Nottingham Crown Court found that one of the teenagers pushed the victim by the shoulder and punched, kicked, stomped and “chopped” with a 42.5cm long machete. Likewise, they stated that, while one of the accused hacked his legs with a machete, the other continued hitting him.
The two teenagers, aged 12, did not try to get help, or call 999 anonymously, as they abandoned their victim, leaving her for dead, near Stowlawn Primary School in Wolverhampton.
They found the machete under the bed
The two suspects were arrested 10 minutes apart at their respective homes, 24 hours after the incident. During the arrest, authorities found a machete under the bed of one of the young men.
They also found blood-stained clothing in one of the laundry baskets and forensic analysis of a cell phone seized by officers found multiple images of large knives and other weapons, they said in the statement.
The youngest convicts
This Monday, June 10, the jury unanimously convicted the two teenagers, whom they consider to be the youngest accused and convicted of murder in Great Britain, since Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, both 11 years old, were found guilty in 1993 of killing two-year-old James Bulger.
The teenagers were not identified by the United Kingdom authorities because they were minors. Both appeared before the Crown or Youth Courts in England and Wales, and denied killing Seesahai.
The two defendants will be sentenced in July, although they did not specify what date they will appear in juvenile court.

“I have been a police officer for 20 years and this is not the first time I have spoken to a young man who lost his life in a really violent way,” Detective Inspector Damian Forrest of West Midlands Police told Sky News. .
Who also added: “But then finding out that two 12-year-old boys were responsible, it was shocking and made everyone on the investigation team stop and think about things.”
Parents demand justice
Shawn Seesahai’s mother said in a video released by West Midlands Police that, “my son was very loving, very polite, he looked after us, he was affectionate with everyone and very protective.”
“I will remember it every day. When I get home I see his photos, his clothes, his sneakers, I will always remember him,” said the lady.
For his part, the victim’s father also left a message in the video where he said that “justice must be done. I want to [los agresores] “They have the right sentence, they don’t have to be locked up for life, I just want it to be fair.”
He added: “We keep our fingers crossed that we will get the justice we have come to seek. This world is a different world, children are dangerous now. If we don’t pay attention to them, this will continue to happen.”
