A lucky Wayne County resident has made history by winning the Michigan Lottery’s largest Lotto 47 jackpot, reaching an impressive $7.9 million.
The man, 38 years old and who has decided to remain anonymous, matched the winning numbers of the May 22 drawing: 22-24-26-40-41-44.
The winner shared that he has been a regular Lotto 47 player for a long time, but he used to change his numbers frequently. Everything changed when he received key advice from his father, which he followed to the letter to become the lucky winner.

When going to claim his prize, the winner of this significant lottery prize shared with everyone how he achieved such an important feat, after many years trying to win a lottery prize.
“I have been playing Lotto 47 for a long time and I always changed my numbers. One day, my father told me that he should pick a set of numbers and stick with them, so that’s what I did. “I purchased a subscription online and have been playing the same set of numbers for a few years,” he said in a statement from the Michigan Lottery.
When he discovered he had won, his first thought was for his father. “I saw an email from the Lottery saying I had won a prize, so I logged into my Lottery account and that’s when I saw $7.19 million outstanding. I was in total shock and instantly thought that my father had been right,” said the player.
The man claimed his prize as a one-time payment of approximately $4.9 million. As for his plans with the money, he mentioned that he intends to invest a significant portion and ensure that his children have enough funds for their college studies. “This award will change our lives forever,” he said.
