The results of the complete autopsy of university student Riley Strain were published by the Tennessee medical examiner this Tuesday, June 18, which specifies the cause of death of the 22-year-old young man, who had been reported missing when he was in Nashville on a trip with his brotherhood. The authorities confirm, with this result, that Strain’s death was due to an accident.

The autopsy of the University of Missouri student confirmed that he died as a result of drowning and excessive alcohol consumption. The toxicology report shows Riley Strain’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, deputy medical examiner Gulpreet Singh Bowman said.

Accidental drowning and alcohol poisoning

“The Riley Strain autopsy report released today by the medical examiner found that the 22-year-old died as a result of accidental drowning and ethyl alcohol intoxication,” the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) wrote in a statement. .

And he added: “(The autopsy) corroborates the findings of the investigation carried out by MNPD missing persons detectives. “The police department is now officially classifying Strain’s death as accidental.”

Strain’s blood alcohol level was .228 and he also had Delta 9 in his system, according to the coroner’s report, which also states that there were no signs of significant trauma to his body.

“The MNPD continues to extend its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Riley Strain,” the department commented.

The case of young Riley Strain attracted attention after his disappearance in early March, after a night of partying with his fraternity friends, who traveled to Nashville, Tennessee. The university student’s body was located several days later in the Cumberland River.

According to the autopsy report, when Tennessee search and rescue teams located Strain’s body, he was in the river face down in the debris. The police investigation discovered that the young man consumed several alcoholic beverages at different establishments after arriving in Nashville with his friends on March 8.

Slipped and fell into the river
