The Ansar Allah al Awfiya movement, a militia that makes up the so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, considered the designation of a terrorist organization by the United States for its responsibility in the deadly drone attack in Jordan a “recognition of its heroic struggle.”

Iran’s allied group defined this appointment, which includes the movement’s secretary general, Sheikh Haydar Muzhir Malak al Saidi, as “unfair” due to the “arrogant” description it makes of them, although it considered that it is “an implicit recognition.” of his heroic struggle and his honorable defense of the rights of oppressed peoples,” they said in a statement.

According to the Ansar Allah al Awfiya statement, this is “proof” that they “represent symbols of bravery and dignity” because “they faced challenges (…) with unwavering determination.” That he considers that the accusation of terrorism “is nothing more than a badge of honor and pride” that corroborates that they are on the right path in defending the just causes of their country.

Due to the aforementioned, they concluded in the note that they will continue with more determination their fight against the international coalition forces led by the United States that are in Iraq.

Likewise, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller accused the movement on Monday of “repeatedly attacking the Global Coalition to defeat ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria,” along with other militias such as Kataib Hezbollah and Al Nujaba, which is part of the Islamic Resistance of Iraq.

Miller claimed that the Resistance has claimed responsibility for dozens of recent attacks against US military personnel in Iraq and Syria, including “the January drone attack that killed three US service members in Jordan.”
