Voice actress Nancy MacKenzie Seput, who was the iconic Spanish voice of Marge Simpson in the dubbed version of The Simpsons for Latin America, has died at the age of 81. At the moment the cause of her death has not been revealed.

The dubbing community in Mexico confirmed the sensitive news with emotional messages in honor of the dubbing actress of Peruvian origin, nationalized Mexican, including Humberto Vélez and Eduardo Garza.

“Many hours together, working, traveling. A lifetime. Your departure hurts me a lot, but I celebrate your way of enjoying, of being free, of living life to the fullest. Thank you for always listening to me, for your unconditional support in the union problem that we go through together. Thanks for the laughter, the debates, the confidences. Thank you for going through this part of life with me. You were, are and will be a fundamental part of the most important work project of my work. You are many things. You are my wife Marge,” Vélez (voice of Homer Simpson) wrote in a post on his Instagram account.

MacKenzie was known for being the voice of Marge in Spanish until season 15 of The Simpsons. Her dubbing career spanned just over five decades, and included characters like “Ms. Keane” in The Powerpuff Girls, Sailor Galaxia in Sailor Moon. Trinity in The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded and Disney’s Clarabella the cow.

In addition to dubbing, Nancy MacKenzie worked as a radio host, television and theater actress, and folk dancer.
