The new technical director of the UANL Tigres, Veljko Paunovic, stated that he wants to boost the team as best as possible during the preseason training for the Apertura 2024 tournament of the Liga MX that they are holding in Cancun with the aim of getting the best version. of each of the figures that are present on the feline sheet.
During a contact with the media after finishing the last training session of the university students, the strategist highlighted that he is working to find the best level personally and collectively to be a competitive team that can win the trophy; He also highlighted that this is the time to get to know all the members of the club and thus be able to put together the relevant strategies to achieve their objectives.
“We continue, we have spent a week in Cancun getting to know each other and introducing the concepts of the way we are going to operate, there are still several meetings left in the group and with individual players because they are things that are very important now. Knowing them now as soon as possible and understanding the expectations we have to set, the plan for what Tigres is, has to be a winner,” said Paunovic.
In his statements, the Serbian did not want to anticipate the possible player changes that may occur for the Apertura 2024 tournament, considering that he is still working to see who is at the best sporting level to gain a starting position; Despite this, he was open to the idea of having new figures if they were purchased or even the sale of some players if the board decided so.
“It is an internal issue, we continue evaluating and a week is good work time, but not enough and we do not want to rush with an evaluation that is too early. But we are certainly open to the possibilities that may arise in the market,” she noted.
Finally, Paunovic was positive about the idea of being able to play preparation and friendly matches with other Aztec football clubs, considering that these are essential to help them learn about the weaknesses they may have to improve and thus have more options for victory. .
