The New York Mets started the 2024 Major League season in a very bumpy manner. Their first series against the Brewers ended in a sweep and they have not been able to have a positive winning record this year.

However, it seems that the Queens team is beginning to find its way a little less than the first half of the season. Those led by Carlos Mendoza have six wins in a row, including a sweep against the San Diego Padres.

This good moment of the team was reflected on Monday night when with 12 runs and 22 hits the Mets defeated the Texas Rangers. Having his highest run production of the season.

The captain of the Mets, Francisco Lindor, is clear about the good moment the team is currently experiencing and hopes they continue on that path.

“Hitting is contagious and it seems that we are in one of those stages in which everything goes well for us,” commented the talented shortstop of the New York team for SNY.

“The way the guys are preparing, the way they talk, our game plan, our approaches, our hitting coaches are doing a really good job,” added the Puerto Rican who went 4 for 4 on the night of the Monday against the Rangers.

“And just stay positive. We knew at the end of the day we had good players, good hitters. We just trust our process, preparation and we have seen the results now,” Lindor emphasized.

Lindor is also clear that the team must maintain this line if they want to qualify for the postseason. “We have to move forward as much as we can, be consistent, exchange ideas with each other and then stay within ourselves,” the shortstop concluded.

Now the Mets have won 12 of their last 16 games and although they are still 14 games behind the lead in the National League East Division, they are barely two games away from the wild card to access the playoffs, the franchise’s main objective.
