“It’s for your own good” is the new ViX film, a comedy starring Kate del Castillo, Consuelo Duval and Mónica Huarte with whom we talked about the challenges of making a comedy and how even the smallest sounds are included in the direction and editing of all the material, because the general public also identifies with them. Along with them, the actors who give life to their children are: José Eduardo Derbez, Michael Ronda and Sebastián García.
This production presents three mothers who have decided to do everything possible to make their sons break up with their girlfriends, simply because they believe they are wrong for them. In the midst of all this planning, they find themselves immersed in a whirlwind that allows them to discover that regardless of how involved they may be with that maternal love in the lives of their children, they must learn to make their own decisions to fly alone.
This production, directed by Alfonso Pineda Ulloa and a story written by Juan Carlos Garzón, Manuel Burque and Josep Gatell, will be available tomorrow, June 21, through ViX.
Consuelo Duval explains to us that the topic addressed here is a completely serious topic for her characters, even if it is so absurd for the audience. And that is precisely where the magic and genuine smiles in the audience are born. “Comedy is as serious as it gets,” Duval says. According to the actress, in this genre, if you are looking to clown around or take away the dignity of the character you are working on, then “it is no longer a comedy.”
Many characters, like Monica and Kate, for example, are inspired by their own mothers and/or female relatives who exercised this same power and right over themselves, their own fathers or their brothers. From that reality, a great hook is generated with the public, because in fact we may all know someone with the characteristics of these characters.
Kate del Castillo, who accepts a comedy challenge for the first time, also explains that many of the achievements that can be seen in this production also arise from the great work done by the director himself and the editors of the project.
