France and the Netherlands tied 0-0 in an intense match corresponding to the second day of Group D of Euro 2024. The match was played at the Leipzig Arena, with Kylian Mbappé absent from the French team due to a broken nose .
France had the clearest chances of the game, with two opportunities for Antoine Griezmann. In the first half, Griezmann could not define a pass from Rabiot when he was almost under the rival goal. In the second half, he had a shot from outside the area that was repelled by the Dutch goalkeeper, Justin Bijlow.
The Netherlands also had their chance to score in the first minute of the match. A one-on-one by Noa Lang was cleared for a corner by French goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
In the 69th minute, a goal by Xavi Simons for the Netherlands was disallowed due to positional offside by Denzel Dumfries.
With this tie, France and the Netherlands share the lead in Group D with 4 points each. On the last day, France will face Romania and the Netherlands will face Austria to determine who qualifies for the round of 16.
