The technical director of the Mexican team, Jaime Lozano, assured that they will seek a resounding victory in their debut this Saturday against the Jamaican national team in the group stage of the Copa América 2024 held in the United States; He maintained that the entire staff has worked with the greatest of spirit in each of the last weeks to arrive in the best possible conditions.
These statements were made by the strategist during the press conference prior to the match against the island team in which he assured that the entire team must “leave their lives on the field” in order to achieve victory and keep alive their aspirations of being able to advance to the next round of the competition.
“We have to leave our lives on the field and that is what we are always going to try to do, then the results may be one, they may be others, also what we seek is to face the best rivals in this process, to me that is what which I like the most. I said it after Uruguay and I say it after Brazil and after whoever, the truth is that we do have the possibility,” said the coach.
Lozano maintained that he will try to maintain a game approach similar to that carried out against the Brazilian team in order to seek a victory that will allow them to add three points and have greater comfort when facing the national teams of Ecuador and Venezuela.
“You have very little time to work. Based on what we did against Brazil above all, let it be a good basis for what comes later in these next three games,” he highlighted.
“I prefer to arrive at a World Cup like this than to arrive with all the games won and not having run into these rivals who are, I think, the ones you run into in a moment and an instance in the World Cup or we have stayed there in that glass ceiling. A Copa América is short of a World Cup,” Jaime Lozano concluded in his statements by highlighting the importance of this continental tournament.
