Mia Bailey, arrested and charged this week in Utah for the murder of her parents, told officers that she hated her parents and would do it again.
A probable cause complaint cited by media outlets such as ABC 4 includes that statement by the 28-year-old woman.
“I would do it again. I hate them,” Bailey reportedly told agents.
The suspect was arrested Wednesday morning after hours of searching. The operation began several hours after the victims’ bodies were found lifeless in her home in Washington City.
Authorities maintain that the alleged murderer confessed that she went to the scene on Tuesday with the intention of killing both her parents and her brother.
Court documents add that Bailey, who is transgender, openly described hatred toward his brother.
The alleged gunman allegedly shot her brother through a closed door, but he was able to escape and call 911 from a neighbor’s residence.
At the time of the events, the brother was locked up with his wife who also emerged unharmed. The couple lived in the house.
Joseph Bailey, 70, and Gail Bailey, 69, were found dead in the living room of the house along with multiple bullet casings.
A neighbor’s surveillance camera captured the moment Bailey arrived at the space. Her alleged attacker detailed to the authorities that she almost immediately attacked her mother.
The suspect shot her parents several times and checked the bodies again to make sure they were dead.
Bailey then left the scene. She was initially located shortly before 1 a.m. in St. George. Officers asked her to stop, but she put a gun to her head as she walked away from the officers.
At around 8 am she was located in an open field where she handed herself over to uniformed officers.
The alleged attacker was charged with 11 counts including felony firearm discharge, aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder.
