A Ukrainian attack against military positions of the Russian occupiers in Crimea, apparently carried out with American ATACMS missiles, caused the death of five people this Sunday, three of them minors, and left more than a hundred injured, according to information provided. by the Moscow-imposed governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev. This information has not been independently confirmed.

“Unfortunately at this moment we have 124 victims,” he wrote on Telegram, detailing that among them there are five deceased people, “three minors and two adults.”

In addition, the occupying authority indicated that “five children are in intensive care” in the Sebastopol hospital, in addition to seven seriously injured adults.

Sergei Axionov, leader of the Crimean peninsula, a Ukrainian territory illegally occupied by Russia since 2014, declared mourning throughout the region for Monday. He noted that “all mass cultural, sporting and recreational activities will be cancelled,” and that Russian flags will be lowered to half-mast in all state institutions.

United States Responsibility

The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement pointing out that responsibility for the attack lies with the United States, for supplying weapons to kyiv.

Let us remember that Russia invaded Ukraine without declaring war in February 2022, and since then Volodimir Zelensky’s Government has been supported by its Western allies so that it can defend itself from aggression.

“Responsibility for the deliberate missile bombing of civilians in Sevastopol lies primarily with Washington, which supplied these weapons to Ukraine,” but also with the authorities in kyiv, the Moscow Defense Ministry said.

The attack will not go unanswered

The Ministry threatened that the attacks on Sevastopol, which hosts the headquarters of the Russian Fleet in the Black Sea, “will not go unanswered.”

According to Moscow, its anti-aircraft defenses managed to intercept four of the five missiles, while the last one deviated from its target due to the action of the defenses, exploding over the city.

Sevastopol is a regular target of attacks, because it is a key logistical point for the occupying army, which usually attacks Ukrainian residential areas from Crimea.

On June 12, at least nine civilians were killed and another 29 were injured after a Russian missile fell in the Ukrainian city of Krivi Rig (center of the country), where President Volodymyr Zelensky is from.

The invaders usually hit the city, whose military importance is little, apparently due to the fact that it is the birthplace of the president.
