Thirteen people were injured after a shooting broke out at a party in downtown Montgomery. The mayor, Steven L. Reed, was the one who shared the news through a statement in which he detailed that the shooter fired around 362 bullets, but so far there are no arrests, since the investigation is ongoing.

The Montgomery Police Department and Fire Rescue team responded to the area of North Pass Road and Alabama River Parkway regarding several gunshot victims. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found two people with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Other victims arrived at the hospital alone

Seven people who had gunshot wounds arrived alone at a hospital to be treated; Doctors confirmed that none of the victims were in danger.

When fire opened at the party, many people tried to flee the scene, Mayor Reed said that an adult woman and two men were injured after suffering a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, all arrived at a hospital to be treated for injuries of glass.

These people who were involved in the accident were also at the North Pass Road party, so the authorities counted them as part of the 13 injured.

“They fired more than 300 bullets”

“This morning, over 300 rounds were fired at a crowded party in the North Pass area. “Nine were injured and at least four more were wounded in the chaos that followed,” the mayor of Montgomery said in a statement.

He added: “Agents from the Montgomery Police Department, ATF and FBI are currently interviewing witnesses and suspects. “We are working tirelessly to identify those involved and urge anyone with information to come forward to help us stop this type of violent and senseless activity,” said Steven Reed.

In the initial statement, the mayor had mentioned that more than 600 rounds were fired, but that number was changed Sunday afternoon to 362 after further review by authorities.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet revealed whether they have any suspects in the shooting. They have also not reported what the motive was that sparked the shooting, since detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses.
