Surely you have noticed, especially now in the hot season and that we have already started the air conditioning, that it can generate water, in small or medium quantities.

The first thing you should know is that all air conditioning produces water, and it is not synonymous with having any damage, since the water generated in these devices comes from ambient air. Air has the ability to retain moisture, and the amount of moisture it can retain depends on temperature: the higher the temperature, the more moisture it can absorb. When hot air from a room comes into contact with the mini-split’s cooling system, it loses its ability to hold water. This water turns into a liquid state and is what is expelled from the system.

The food engineer and content creator, Rafa Carbajal, has explained in a video on his TikTok account that the water expelled by air conditioners can be used for various domestic activities that do not require drinking water. Recommended uses include:

* Wash dishes: Use this water to rinse dishes and kitchen utensils.
* Wash clothes: Ideal for use in the washing cycle, as long as it is combined with appropriate detergent.
