The trainer of American boxer Terence Crawford, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, spoke again about the security he feels about his fighter’s victory in a possible fight against the undisputed super middleweight champion, the Mexican Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez; At the same time he detailed that after this he could retire without any problem from professional boxing having achieved everything he had planned.

These statements were made by BoMac McIntyre during an interview offered for Fight Hub, where he maintained that Crawford has many more capabilities and qualities in the ring to be able to overcome the man from Guadalajara and thus keep his championship belts; I add to this the fact that Canelo is not unstoppable because he has already been defeated.

“I only see Canelo as someone who can be defeated, and who has already been defeated before. Bud definitely has the tools to beat him, and that’s how I see it. As for breaking down Canelo’s style in depth, I will do it until the fight is on the radar or on the table, then I will start studying his style a little more, but now my mind is focused on Madrimov,” said the coach in his statements.

“I know Bud has the tools to defeat Canelo. And the most important thing for me, as a coach, is that when something is not working you have to adapt to the situation and the fight, and make changes at that moment. And Bud is very good at that. We could all retire (if he wins the undisputed title at 168). We could retire and sit down and do other things,” he added.

Let us remember that Terence Crawford will make his debut at 154 pounds on August 3 in a match against Israil Madrimov in order to win the super welterweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the interim title of the World Boxing Organization ( OMB); With this test the American rises from 147 to 154 pounds and allows him to train for a possible fight against Canelo at 168 pounds.

“You might look at it that way, but Bud has always sparred with bigger guys. I remember he once sparred with Bryant Jennings (heavyweight). It was a good sparring partner, and Bud is elusive, he can swim without getting wet,” he said.

“We take it one fight at a time right now. Bud always concentrates on the fight in front of him, he never looks past an opponent, he never takes an opponent lightly. At this moment, his mind is on Madrimov, because he is a very dangerous fighter, that is where his concentration is,” the coach concluded.
