The 2024 Copa América continues its journey in the United States and some sports specialists are beginning to opt for their favorites. One of those who recently gave his favorite to win the continental competition was coach Rafael Dudamel.

The Venezuelan strategist was precise and clear when asked in an interview for Kienyke the favorite team for him and Colombia responded as the one he believes will win the Copa América.

He also revealed that he believes that the final will be between Argentina, although it will be runner-up, and the coffee team.

Another prediction from Dudamel was to place his native Venezuela as third in the cup. “We have to see how the crossovers happen, but I would say Venezuela,” he explained when he was asked about the team that he considers will be in third place.

The predictions of the man who was the Vinotinto coach between 2016 and 2020 continued and when he was asked about the tournament’s revelation player, he chose Luis Díaz for that award. “I don’t know if he will be a revelation, but I think Luis Díaz ratifies everything he has already done in the Qualifiers and with Liverpool,” Dudamel commented.

Where the Venezuelan did not want to get wet was in the “disappointment player.” Well, consider that “I always see the glass half full. “I don’t want to delve into anything negative,” said the coach.

Finally, they asked him his opinion regarding Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez. Well, Dudamel was a goalkeeper in his past as a soccer player, to which the now coach responded “he is a great goalkeeper.”

Since December 2023, Dudamel has been the coach of Atlético Bucaramanga. Team that has just won a champion in Colombia, something he had already done in 2022 with Deportivo Cali.
