The castle-like mansion in Hudson Valley, New York, owned by television host Sally Jessy Raphael has been on the real estate market for three decades. It is currently available for $5.5 million dollars.

The current asking price is a $1 million discount from the price it initially listed for $6.5 million in October of last year. The listing agent is Harriet Norris of Douglas Elliman.

The presenter, known for her sensationalist talk shows, bought this property in 1997 for $1.72 million dollars. The grand residence is built on a 25-acre lot located in a town one hour and 45 minutes north of Manhattan.

According to ‘Mansion Global’, the property was built over an entire century. From 1800 to 1900, and the construction project was to replace an original house from 1740. This is why it is a historic residence.

The main house is spread over three floors with 17 bedrooms, nine full bathrooms, four half bathrooms, foyer, living room, several lounges, kitchen, dining room, laundry room and other amenities.

Of the interior of the house the real estate agent writes: “it features a wealth of exquisite details, including hand-carved pilasters, hand-painted plaster moldings and ceiling motifs, leaded glass windows, and pediments variegated with fascias. of carved wood and Gothic spiers.”

Another of the protagonists of the house is the large main staircase made of oak and adorned with a base of hand-carved animals.

In addition to the main house there are two additional staff houses, a guest house, a separate yoga studio, a greenhouse and a 12,000 square foot stable.

The entire property is surrounded by extensive green areas.
