Los Angeles – At least five people have died and a minor has been seriously injured in a shooting that occurred in the north of the city of Las Vegas, in the state of Nevada (USA), according to local media.

According to ABCNews, a gunman, who later committed suicide, was the main perpetrator of the shootings that occurred between two apartments where the victims were found after the shooting.

Although the event took place late on Monday, the Police did not find the suspect in the event, identified as Erick Adams, 57, until Tuesday night.

Police officers went to the first apartment where the incident occurred and found two women, one in her 40s and another in her 50s, both shot to death, according to the network.

A third shooting victim, a 13-year-old girl, was also found in that apartment and was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

In another nearby apartment, three more victims of the shooting were located. They were two women and a man, all around 20 years old, according to the Police, who were declared dead, the US network states.

The Police located Adams on Tuesday night, armed with a gun, who first fled and, later, after receiving several warnings to drop the weapon, he committed suicide.

“Officers began giving Adams verbal commands to drop the firearm, however he ignored those commands and shot himself,” police said in a statement carried by the network.

The reasons that led to the shooting are unknown.
