If Brazil is known for something, in addition to its five World Cups, it is for being a factory of soccer players. Year after year, young talents appear from the country of the carnival and are signed by European teams that pay millions of dollars for their transfers.
Vitor Roque and Endrick are some of the most recent young footballers who have gone to Europe for large sums. Going a little further back is Vinícius, Rodrygo, Reinier, among others.
And the most recent case is that of Estevao, a 17-year-old Palmeiras footballer who just signed with Chelsea of England for $36 million dollars.
This skilled right winger is for many a great promise in Brazilian football. Even the former world champion in 1994 with Canarinha, Branco, recently commented on the podcast Wamo Cast that Estevao is the best Brazilian talent since Neymar.
“With all due respect to others. This is something serious, something I have never said and I am going to say. This is Brazil, everyone is spectacular, but this boy, his ceiling is a little higher,” explained Braco, who is currently in charge of the youth teams of the Brazilian national team.
Branco knows young Brazilian talent perfectly and that is why his opinion has great credibility. Now more than ever, eyes on Estevao will be more attentive than ever.
What is surprising about Branco’s opinion is that among the young talents and the comparisons with Estevao, he did not name Vinícius Jr., current Real Madrid player.
Well, the former player assures that the last great talent to come out of Brazil was Neymar and currently the only one who could reach that level is the new Chelsea player, Estevao.
