In the 2022 Major League Baseball season, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge wrote his name into the history books by becoming the player with the most home runs in a season in the American League with 62 homers.

But this 2024 Judge could even break his own record. And the Yankees captain projects a similar amount, or even greater, obtained in 2022.

In just 81 games this year, just halfway through the season, Judge already has 30 home runs. He is the all-time leader in the Major Leagues and is on track to get back to 60 or more homers this season.

And evaluating the 2022 season in which he hit 62 home runs; it took Judge 84 games (three more than in 2024) to reach 30 homers. Which shows, and according to the projections of Baseball Referencewhich this year could reach or exceed that figure again.

Judge’s offensive game is at an all-time high after a slow start to the season. He currently has nine homers in his last 15 games and five in his last eight.

The 32-year-old slugger on Wednesday against the Mets became the fourth player in MLB history to hit 30 home runs before the All-Star break on three separate occasions. A feat that only Mark McGwire (who did it four times), Ken Griffey Jr. and Babe Ruth have accomplished.

The Yankees started the season in excellent fashion and had a significant advantage at the top of the American League East Division. However, a small negative streak has begun to close the gap, as the Bronx team has lost eight of its last 10 games.

However, Judge’s offensive power remains intact and barely halfway through the season he is already emerging as a serious candidate to win the American League MVP award.
