The Brazilian team left doubts behind and beat Paraguay 4-1, and thus achieved the first victory of the Copa América, after its frustrating draw against Costa Rica in the debut.
The Brazilian team changed their image and won thanks to a great performance by Vinícius Junior, who scored a double.
From the start, Dorival’s men showed potential, based on the devilish speed and skill of Vinícius Junior.
The first goal came at the feet of Vinícius, who put together a great play on the left side, teamed up inside and ended up scoring the goalkeeper with a dribble to make it 1-0.
That was the end of Paraguay’s resistance. The second goal came in the 43rd minute after a powerful shot from Rodrygo, which the goalkeeper saved and the ball fell to Savinho for the 2-0.
Before the end of the first half, the third goal came, with a smart move by number 7, who pressed the Paraguayan exit and anticipated the exit of Omar Alderete to make it 3-0.
At the start of the second half, the Albirroja reacted, with Alderete scoring the goal in the 48th minute of the match.
The comeback attempt faded as the minutes passed and was sentenced with another penalty in favor of Scratch. Paquetá had revenge and scored without problems to make it 4-1.
With the victory, Brazil reached 4 points and settled into the group, having the possibility of winning the group if they defeat Colombia, in the third and last date of Group D. The Albirroja was eliminated without points and will play against Costa Rica to say goodbye.
