A man from Oakland County, Michigan, decided to buy a lottery ticket at the last minute and ended up winning more than $446,000.
The 43-year-old man purchased a ‘Fantasy 5’ game ticket at a 7-Eleven store located at 41110 Hayes Road in Clinton Township.
The ticket matched the numbers from the May 28 draw: 07-16-24-29-31.
“I usually play Mega Millions and Powerball, but when I was at the store, I made a last-minute decision to buy a Fantasy 5 ticket,” said the winner.
“A few days later, I was in the same store and people were talking about a big Fantasy 5 winner who had bought their ticket there. I scanned my ticket, and that’s when I knew I was the big winner. The excitement in our house has been incredible,” he added.
The man went to the Michigan Lottery headquarters to collect his $446,571 prize, choosing to keep his identity a secret.
The lucky winner plans to put some of the money toward his or her children’s college funds and also invest a portion of the prize.
