In early 2023, Jeremy Renner suffered an accident that almost cost him his life. And almost two years after that traumatic event, the actor decided to publicly show the scars left by being crushed by a snowplow while trying to save his nephew. This caused multiple fractures, more precisely a total of 38 broken bones, and left him in intensive care for a long time in a hospital in Nevada.
Now, the actor leads a healthy life in terms of food, rest and daily exercise. And in this sense, he gave an interview to the magazine Men’s Health in which he talked about his accident, his current habits and was encouraged to show the marks on his body.
“Jeremy Renner returns from the dead, stronger than ever,” headlined the outlet on a black-and-white cover, where the actor appears with his shirt off and showing off his good physical condition.
In the post shared on social media, they assured that the actor’s body is “very different now.” “I have to improve what I was today,” Jeremy said in dialogue with the media, and then added: “That’s all that matters. I’m not going to set a high bar here.” After the large number of injuries caused by the accident, Renner had to get to work to recover his physical condition and part of that willpower he had was revealed in the interview.
According to the media, the actor followed a special diet with a higher protein intake than he had before. Regarding his physique, they pointed out that the resistance bands were essential for basic rehabilitation before starting a weight routine. Stretching and mobility were also essential, and he trained up to four times a week.
At one point during the interview, Jeremy was asked if he had any scars, and he replied, “Yeah, I think so. I never had any scars before. There were probably more emotional and spiritual scars.”
He also added: “Now I have some marks, but they are not even from the accident, they are from the surgeries. There is a scar on my head, which was actually from the steel. But everything else is under the skin and I don’t see those scars. I see the scar I have on my chest. They are all memories of a beautiful day.”
However, Jeremy Renner assured that he will be in recovery for the rest of his life, but the progress he has made since the beginning of last year was such that his life story is inspiring to many.
