Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s wife, Emma Coronel, celebrated her 35th birthday in style with a surprise party organized by her friend Mariel Colón, the Puerto Rican lawyer who represented Coronel and Guzmán Loera in their legal proceedings in the United States. The event included live music, dancing, fireworks, big shows and important guests.
Emma Coronel, who was released on parole at the end of 2023 after almost three years in prison, has a birthday this July 2, but her friends decided to throw her surprise party last weekend at Hacienda “El Patrón,” located in Carolina, Puerto Rico, as can be seen in several images that have been posted on social media. “El Chapo’s” wife herself uploaded videos of the evening to her Instagram accounts.
The posts captured some of the moments where the birthday girl and her guests were seen playing limbo, enjoying live regional Mexican music, a group of mariachis that made everyone in attendance sing, great performances by dancers, fireworks, and even live fire shows.
Something that certainly caught the attention of users was that the celebration included the presence of famous guests, such as Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Tito “El Bambino,” who dressed entirely in white like the rest of the attendees, but was close to the honoree throughout the event – they were even seen sharing a cupcake. Also present were entrepreneur Sandra E. Rolón and content creator Génesis Rohena.
“Thank you so much to everyone who was part of my surprise party! Thanks to Mariel Colon and Tito El Bambino ‘El Patrón’. I didn’t expect it. It was an unforgettable night,” wrote the former beauty queen along with a series of emojis with streamers and stars.

Emma Coronel blew out the candles on an incredible cake in a centerpiece decorated with gold, white and black balloons that decorated a black panel with the inscription “Emma Coronel.” She also received a Moncler perfume as a gift.
This is Coronel’s first birthday since she was released on parole after spending almost three years in prison for a sentence handed down in November 2021 for her ties to her husband, El Chapo Guzmán, in the context of investigations into money laundering and drug trafficking in Mexico and the United States.
