Laura Cortés, Lolita Cortés’ sister, reported in an interview with several media outlets that the judge of “La Academia” underwent emergency surgery, in order to prevent the cancer from returning to her body and that, in addition, her uterus was removed to avoid risks.
“My sister had to undergo emergency surgery last week. She is still in remission, but precisely to prevent the cancer from returning and from taking hold anywhere, they decided to remove her uterus, perform a hysterectomy. She is recovering very well, thank God,” said Laura.
The actress’s sister reiterated that Lolita’s cancer is in remission, meaning that the signs and symptoms of the cancer have diminished or disappeared.
“He is currently in remission, we hope he is in remission for the six years he has left and that he comes out perfectly well,” he added.
Finally, he added that Lola Cortés is in very good health and is recovering before participating in “La Academia.”
“She is still full of life, with so much vitality that we almost have to tie her to the bed so that she stays still. She has to stay in bed for at least three weeks. She has to recover to enter “The Academy, it is a fact that she will be participating as a judge.”
A few months ago, the renowned theater actress revealed in an interview for the program “Venga La Alegría” that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. There she said that she was receiving treatment and asked her followers not to give up.
