New York Yankees center fielder and captain Aaron Judge continues to perform impressively despite his team’s collective slump, and thanks to that he was crowned the best hitter in the American League for the second consecutive month.

Judge had such a great month in June that he was able to clinch the award for the second time thanks to the power he displayed, which allowed him to hit 11 home runs and finish with 37 RBIs for the Yankees.

Additionally, Judge finished June with an offensive average of .406 and an impressive on-base percentage of 1.378, proving that he was the most solid player on his team despite the losing streak they have had, with 11 games lost in the last 15.

Judge earned his eighth career award by relieving himself after also hitting 1.397 OPS and batting .361 in May.

The Judge’s performance has also been in the news in recent days for having managed to equal a record that had only been achieved by home run hitters Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire and Ryan Howard.

Judge was able to tie baseball as the only players in history to hit 25 or more home runs and have an on-base percentage of .500 or better during a 50-game stretch in a single Major League season.

In the National League, there was also a repeat of the offensive work of Philadelphia Phillies fourth hitter Bryce Harper.

In June, Harper hit .374 with seven homers, 10 doubles and a 1.116 OPS, earning his fourth career Major League Player of the Month honors and helping the Phillies remain the best team in baseball.

Both Judge and Harpen are putting up numbers for a possible MVP award, although the National League race will be closer given the work of Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani.
