Red Bull Formula 1 driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez announced on Wednesday that he will premiere a documentary series in collaboration with the Disney+ platform that will tell his story from his beginnings in motorsport to the current season of the top category of motorsport.
A message on his social networks was enough for Checo Pérez to inform his fans of the new project, which will be called “Checo Pérez: Don’t Give Up, Bastard!” and which, according to several sources, will be released on July 31.
The material will be one of the new contents that can be enjoyed on Disney+ after the merger with its ally Star+, which will be made official on the 26th of this month.
Previously, Star+ compiled everything related to sports, both in live productions from ESPN and audiovisual content focused on clubs, national teams and documentaries, but now it will cease to exist and all its exclusive material, including some +18, will become part of Disney+.
“During the second half of the year, projects entirely made in Mexico will also be released, such as Checo Pérez: ¡No te rindas, cabr#n!, a new docuseries about the renowned Mexican Formula 1 driver,” reads the text released by Disney+ in this regard.
The series is expected to be divided into several episodes that will feature the presence of Checo Pérez himself, his entourage at Red Bull, his teammates from other Formula 1 teams and also points of view and anecdotes from his closest family and friends.
This is not the first time that content about a driver or Formula 1 has been released, as for several years Netflix has produced Drive To Survive, a series that narrates each season of the top category of motorsport with its pros and cons.
