Following the long-awaited release of her documentary “I Am: Celine Dion,” the Canadian singer is reportedly preparing to return to the art scene through a series of concerts.
According to a report from Us Son, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer, who recently revealed in her own documentary that what she missed most was her fans and the sound of their applause, would be working to give 70-minute shows in the city of Las Vegas.
According to the same sources, the Resorts World Theatre would be the place chosen by the Canadian to sing again in front of her audience after 4 years of absence following the diagnosis of the Stiff Person Syndrome she suffers from.
Celine Dion returns in style
Within the same report, it was also announced that Dion would not only be rehearsing to perform before the public again, but would also have established a “plan b” in case her illness prevented her from performing.
This strategy would consist of scheduling alternative dates to those established in case the original concerts were not held.
According to the same sources, Celine’s performances would coincide with the celebration of the Las Vegas Grand Prix next November, which is why it is speculated that the singer’s return would be part of the series of shows that are intended to be offered to those attending the Formula 1 event.
Regarding the preparation process that the singer has undergone, it was revealed that she began with small musical sessions in her own home with musicians. Likewise, and thanks to the therapy she has undergone for more than 8 months, she has been able to perform consecutive performances.
Celine Dion’s alleged series of concerts is being backed by concert promoter AEG.
No one can stop Celine Dion
Following her illness diagnosis in December 2020, Celine Dion has shown the progress of her illness through her social media and random appearances such as at the last 2024 Grammy ceremony, where she made her first public appearance after years of therapy work.
After this, the artist was captured in various public events with her children with a visible improvement in her physical condition. Likewise, she made use of her official channels to show her progress. Prior to the recent premiere of her documentary, the singer was interviewed by various media where she mentioned part of the way in which her illness has affected her, such as feeling like she is being “strangled” when she tried to sing, becoming addicted to Valium and seeing her children suffer due to the fear generated by her health.
