Visual artist Sibylle Szaggars has decided it’s time to get rid of the house on Balsam Drive, Utah, that she has owned for several decades. The painter bought this residence in the 1980s, many years before she met actor Robert Redford, whom she married in 2009.
The cottage-style home is just a short walk from the Sundance Resort, where the couple met. Redford owned the resort, which was the birthplace of the Sundance Film Festival.
The reason why Szaggars has decided to sell the residence is currently unknown, as it is also the place where he was inspired to create several of his works and he also converted the ground floor into his own work studio. Although the couple’s main residence is located in California.
The listing agent describes the place: “Find unbridled peace and tranquility in this beautiful canyon cabin nestled in the heart of nature. Here, perched among the pines, you’ll breathe fresh mountain air and enjoy stunning views of majestic Mount Timpanogos from every deck and every room of this luxury home.”
This property occupies a 1.43-acre lot. The main house has an area of 3,536 square feet distributed in four bedrooms, five bathrooms, foyer, living room, great room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.
The interior features high ceilings, large windows, 27-foot ceilings, a wooden fireplace, wooden walls and stone-covered shelves. The residence certainly seems ideal for escaping the noise of the big cities.
The main structure is also surrounded by extensive green areas with terraces and other spaces ideal for enjoying the outdoors with family or friends. There are also impressive views of the landscape from every space in the house.
