Brazil was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Uruguay on penalties after a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes. This defeat by the five-time world champions has been met with much criticism.

In response to this, the Brazilian Football Confederation launched an emotional video on social media to cheer up Brazilian fans. In the images of the audiovisual piece, several key moments in the history of football in this country can be observed.

They also highlight all the times that the Brazilian team was eliminated in a major competition and got back up to win the title. Like the final lost in 1998 and four years later they ended up winning the World Cup again.

The video seeks to highlight the indomitable spirit of struggle and perseverance that characterizes the five-time world champion and nine-time Copa América champion team.

“This is not the first time they have declared our end, but believe me: we will win again. This is Brazil,” reads the message in the video published by the CBF.

The video also leaves a clear message about the end, seeking to call on all Brazilians to continue supporting their team. “Today we lost, but tomorrow is just around the corner. And tomorrow, believe me, we will win,” concludes the emotional audiovisual.

And beyond Brazil’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the Copa América, the South American team is ranked sixth in the Conmebol Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Nevertheless, CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues confirmed the continuity of coach Dorival Júnior, thus demonstrating his confidence in the Brazilian team and in the current process.

Brazil’s next rivals

Now the Canarinha will have to focus on the CONMEBOL qualifiers. The next date will be in September, when they will host Ecuador at home and then visit Paraguay.

In October they will face Chile and Peru and the year will close with a double date in November against Venezuela and Uruguay.
