Amidst the controversies that Ryan Garcia has generated, it seems that a new one is brewing. The boxer announced on social media that he will now be his brother Sean Garcia’s trainer.

The younger Garcia was unable to defeat Amado Vargas in six rounds during their fight at the Honda Center of Anaheim in Los Angeles and ended up losing by knockout. While he is in the process of rehabilitation and serving a one-year suspension, Ryan has already found something to do with his career.

In a video posted on social media alongside his brother, ‘KingRy’ announced his new role as coach. “Sean may have suffered a defeat, but here’s the good news: I wasn’t on his side (…) the Vargas brothers have a 1-0 lead over us, that’s fine. We’re going to ask for a rematch and I’ll be the head coach,” he said.

On social media, Ryan seems to have found a solution to his suspension problem and reiterated that he would dedicate himself to being a trainer. “I have now decided to be a head trainer. Since I am banned from boxing, that means I can train fighters. Contact me young and old fighters,” he wrote on X.

Ryan Garcia interrupts his rehabilitation

After being sanctioned for two positive anti-doping tests, Oscar de la Hoya announced that Garcia would begin a rehabilitation process. However, on Saturday he skipped it in order to go to the Honda Center and witness his brother’s defeat.

He made it clear on social media. “I got out of this shit for nothing,” wrote ‘King Ry’, who was the protagonist of another controversy that day. On the Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal card, the boxer was seen arguing with fans after his brother’s defeat.

A video circulated on social media showing Garcia being escorted out of the stadium by security. However, the boxer claims that this was not the case.

The controversies with Ryan Garcia seem to never end. At the beginning of the month, the president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, expelled the Mexican-American from the organization. The reason? In one of the many Spaces that Ryan has made on X, he decided to insult African-Americans and Americans.
