Pennsylvania shooting investigated as attempted murder

The shooting in Pennsylvania is being investigated as a possible attempted murder, law enforcement officials said. Local media cited official statements indicating that the Federal Bureau of Investigation will work with the U.S. Secret Service as the investigation progresses.

The FBI, in a statement on social media, did not confirm whether this was an investigation into attempted murder. Joe Biden also declined to comment on the matter at the press conference, saying that he still had no information on the incident.

Trump, who was giving a speech, was quickly evacuated from the podium after the alleged attack. He had been on stage for just 10 minutes when a bullet hit him in the ear, causing a visible wound on his face.

The Secret Service, responsible for the security of presidents and presidential candidates, acted immediately to protect him.
