The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the community’s help in locating an undocumented immigrant considered “armed and dangerous” and who is among the most wanted criminals in Texas. Authorities are offering a $4,000 reward for anyone who provides information on his whereabouts.

DPS said Jorge Dionicio Hernandez, 33, of Mexico, has been wanted out of Harris County since January 2022, for indecency with a minor by sexual contact.

He was expelled from the US.

In 2009, Hernandez was convicted of multiple drunk driving charges in Harris County, and was subsequently removed from the United States.

In July 2021, the man was arrested by the Houston Police Department for providing a fake driver’s license, but was released from jail on bail.

The Department of Public Safety provided a physical description of Jorge Hernández for his location.

  • Height: 5’3″ (1.60 meters).
  • Weight: 132 pounds (60 kilos).
  • White skin.
  • Eyes: Dark brown.
  • He has tattoos on his back and leg.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Office of Public Safety, offers cash rewards to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of one of Texas’ 10 most wanted fugitives, sex offenders or illegal immigrants.

Sex offenders, fugitives and illegal immigrants

In 2024, DPS and other agencies arrested 24 of Texas’ most wanted fugitives, sex offenders and illegal immigrants, including 10 sex offenders, 8 gang members and 2 criminal illegal immigrants, DPS reported in the release.

They also made it clear that to be eligible to receive the cash rewards, in this case $4,000, which is what they are offering for finding the whereabouts of Jorge Hernandez, informants must provide the information to the authorities using one of the following methods:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about and then clicking the link under their photo.
  • Submit a suggestion on Facebook by clicking the “SUBMIT A SUGGESTION” link (in the “About” section).
  • All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted.
  • Tipsters will be provided with a tip number instead of using a name.

DPS advises against attempting to arrest this or any other wanted fugitive on your own, as all are considered armed and dangerous.
