What happened?

Last Saturday, a fan died after being shot minutes after Xolos de Tijuana’s 4-2 victory over Chivas del Guadalajara at the Estadio Caliente. This was confirmed by the Attorney General of Baja California.

Apparently, a fight inside the stadium was the trigger. The fans had a fight in the stands that later moved outside the venue once they were evacuated. When they left, they met again and one of the attackers used his firearm.

The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the deceased person was identified as Carlos Alfredo Cárdenas Ramos, a 33-year-old Tijuana fan nicknamed “El One” who allegedly had a criminal record.
