Greenville resident Marlene Hutchins experienced a life-changing moment just minutes before the Cash 5 lottery closed on Tuesday.

Hutchins purchased her ticket at 10:49 p.m. using the North Carolina Lottery app and won a $100,000 prize.

The woman discovered that she had hit the fat man after waking up from a nap.

“I almost missed my chance to play,” Hutchins recalled.

The excitement came when he checked his phone in the middle of the night, prompting screams of joy that woke up his children.

The convenience of playing online, allowing her to purchase tickets from home, proved to be incredibly fruitful for her.

Claiming her prize at lottery offices on Friday, Hutchins received $71,500 after taxes.

Overwhelmed by the victory, she expressed disbelief, comparing the experience to a dream.

With her winnings, Hutchins plans to pay some bills and buy a car for her daughter.
