After containing a fire at an apartment complex in Phoenix, authorities discovered three bodies inside a bedroom, whose deaths are being investigated by homicide detectives.

Phoenix fire crews responded to an apartment building on 48th Street near Ray Road. When they arrived, they discovered smoke coming from the entrance of one of the apartments on the second floor.

“They could not be resurrected”

Firefighters managed to enter the apartment that was on fire and were able to extinguish the fire. While conducting an inspection, they found three unconscious people, who were declared dead at the scene.

“Unfortunately, the individuals were not able to be resuscitated,” said Fire Capt. Todd Keller.

Captain Keller told AZFamily that the bodies were of a man and two women, who were found in a back bedroom of the apartment and one of the bodies showed obvious signs of trauma, police said.

After the fire was extinguished, the Phoenix Fire Investigations Task Force and homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire and the circumstances of the three deaths.

The neighbors are very scared

The neighbors told the same media outlet that they were very scared when they saw the flames and immediately left their homes to avoid an accident. But they said they were very surprised to learn that there were three dead people inside the apartment.

Police said the area will remain closed for an extended period while the investigation is underway. Detectives need to find evidence and uncover the cause of the deaths, but there is no further information at this time.
