Businesswoman and philanthropist Lauren Powell Jobs has paid $70 million for a house located in Pacific Heights, San Francisco, California. Photos of the property are not available because the transaction was made outside the real estate market.

The most notable thing about this purchase is that the property became the most expensive in San Francisco, as the $70 million paid by Steve Jobs’ widow represents a record in the city’s market.

Before this transaction, the record had been set in 2021 with the sale of a house in the same area for $43.5 million. This figure is interesting, as it means that the current record has a significant lead.

Powell bought the property from a couple of businessmen’s children, Sloan Lindemann Barnett and Roger Barnett. According to ‘Mansion Global’, the couple bought this residence in 2011 for just $33 million dollars.

As stated before, this residence was never available on the real estate market, but sources close to its former owners claim that they were expecting to receive $100 million. The increase in the price of this residence in 13 years is due to the renovation projects they implemented on the site.

Since the living quarters have not been officially made available, it is impossible to know what major changes have been made to the place over the past decade. However, it is known that when Sloan Lindemann Barnett and Roger Barnett purchased the place, the main house spanned 17,000 square feet.

It is currently unknown what Laurene Powell Jobs will use this new residence for, but it should be noted that she has an enviable real estate portfolio and seems to want to expand it this year. It should also be noted that Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, and in 2018 Powell Jobs bought a residence in the same area.

According to ‘Mansión Global’, the widow of the Apple co-founder paid $94 million a few weeks ago for a mansion located in Paradise Cove, Malibu, California.
