An elderly man died yesterday after falling twenty stories from a hotel in Midtown East, Manhattan (NYC).

New York police were called to the Kimberly Hotel on E. 50th St. near 3rd Ave. around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Daily News. When they arrived, they discovered the 64-year-old man dead, who is believed to have jumped from a bedroom. His identity was not released and no further information was immediately available.

This boutique hotel houses 154 spacious luxury suites, most equipped with their own private balconies, detailed New York Post.

In a similar case, in April a 26-year-old man died after falling into the void behind a luxury building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. In March, Jon Medwick, a 62-year-old cartoonist, fell from the 15th floor of his apartment in Chelsea (NYC), despite desperate attempts by his girlfriend to grab him and save his life, according to police and witnesses.

In December, a 56-year-old real estate agent fell to his death after posing smiling in an Upper East Side building. Days earlier, a mother died after falling from another luxury building near the New York mayor’s residence.

In another similar case, at the end of October a man jumped into the void from the penthouse of the Gotham Hotel in the Jewelry District of Midtown Manhattan (NYC), next to the Colombian Consulate.

In the summer of 2023, a body was found after falling from the roof of the luxurious Mandarin Oriental hotel in front of New York’s Central Park. Days later, he was identified as a 17-year-old boy who had been reported missing by his family in New Jersey.

In May of last year, a 20-year-old tourist died after falling from a hotel in Midtown after fighting with her boyfriend in front of their baby.
