Pookies are the pancake cookies that are trending on social media and are prepared in just 10 minutes, since they are prepared in a quick blender. One of the attractions of this recipe is that they give the sensation of bringing the flavor of pancakes to cookies and that in just a few minutes you can prepare a large quantity.

This is the recipe for Pookies from Kayou Kitchen that has reached millions of views and thousands of likes. The name of this blog “Kayou” is the acronym of the founders of the blog, Katja and Youssef.

Both are self-confessed fans of cooking and food. Katja is from Germany, but has lived in nine different countries, and Youssef is of Moroccan and French descent.

They have several famous recipes on the internet, but their main attraction this time was to achieve a simple cookie recipe that anyone could make.

Easy and quick cookies to prepare

And that’s how the viral recipe came about, in which you just throw a banana into a blender with sugar, flour, baking powder, chocolate and an egg, without having to do anything else, and then shape the thick dough into a cookie on a sheet of parchment paper and bake it at 350 F for just 8 minutes.

Although she achieved her goal, and Youssef loved them, there was one detail: “They are not cookies,” she said, “they are pancake cookies!” Today reports.

The creator of Kayou Kitchen offers some additional tips for more careful preparation, and she gave the quantities of each ingredient so as not to leave anything to chance.

The ingredients start with one banana, one egg, one teaspoon baking powder, 3 tablespoons plus 1 heaping teaspoon sugar (50 grams), 3/4 cup flour (about 100 grams), and 1/3 heaping cup chocolate chips (about 60 grams), and a pinch of salt.

Once all the ingredients are in the food processor, mix them for about 30 seconds and work the dough until it takes the shape of a cookie.

However, she notes that once she dropped 6 tablespoons onto the baking paper, they spread out on their own without any problem.

The cooking time will depend on each oven, although in her case they only needed 10 minutes to brown properly.
