During the second day of the Republican National Convention taking place in Milwaukee, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a request to voters, which is to give their vote to Donald Trump in the upcoming elections, and justified his request because the United States needs “a commander in chief” active every day to lead the country.

Ron DeSantis gave a speech at the Republican National Convention in which he said that the current president, Democrat Joe Biden, is unfit for office.

“Our enemies don’t just operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We need a commander in chief who can lead the country 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” he said.

“Trump has been demonized and almost lost his life”

The governor of Florida, who has withdrawn from the electoral race, asked for votes for the already confirmed candidate for the presidency of the United States by the Republican Party.

“Trump has been demonized, persecuted, and almost lost his life. We cannot let him fall and we cannot let America fall,” he said, referring to the assassination attempt on the former president on Saturday, July 13, at a rally in Pennsylvania, where he was wounded in the ear.

The governor defended many of the conservative policies he has implemented in Florida, criticizing illegal immigration and the left, which he accused of “indoctrinating” schools by talking about “diversity, equity and inclusion.”

“Let us make the man who was our 45th president also our 47th president,” he concluded.

“Trump has my firm support”

Another Trump rival in the primaries, Nikki Haley, appealed to moderate and undecided voters. She also gave a speech.

“President Trump asked me to speak at this convention on behalf of unity. It was a gracious invitation and I happily accepted, and I will begin by making one thing perfectly clear: Donald Trump has my unwavering support,” Haley added.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump made a new appearance on the second day of the Convention, where he arrived on stage amid a standing ovation and still with a bandage on his right ear.

“Trump has changed”

Meanwhile, Florida Republican Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar said Trump is “a different person” since he survived the assassination attempt last Saturday at an election rally.

“The party is at a very important moment because President Trump has changed. He took off one man’s clothes and put on another’s. It’s like before Christ and after Christ,” he said in statements to EFE.

Salazar, who is of Cuban origin, said that Republicans should approach the November elections with “a message of unity and civility.”
